These links are selected based on approved criteria, and provided for your convenience and information. The Alzheimer Society assumes no responsibility for the information provided on them. The inclusion of links to other websites does not imply endorsement of the material on those websites or any association with their publishers.

Other websites are free to link to this site and formal requests are not required. However, all content on the site is protected by copyright and any reuse or adaptation of the content in the site without express permission of Alzheimer Society of Canada is prohibited. The contents of the Alzheimer Site, such as text, graphics, images, information and other material (“Content”) contained on the Alzheimer Site, is for information purposes only. The Content is not intended to be a substitute for professional medical advice, diagnosis or treatment (and the Alzheimer Site does not render medical, nursing, or professional health-care advice in any jurisdiction). Liability

User submissions

You agree that you will not upload or transmit any communications or content of any type that infringe or violate any rights of any person or entity. By submitting communications or content to any part of this Site, you agree that such submission is non-confidential for all purposes. If you make any such submission, you automatically grant or warrant that the owner of such content has expressly granted to Alzheimer Society of B.C. a royalty-free, perpetual, irrevocable, worldwide nonexclusive license to use, reproduce, create derivative works from, modify, publish, edit, translate, distribute, perform and display the communication or content in any media or medium, or any form, format or forum now known or hereafter developed. The Alzheimer Society of B.C. may sublicense its rights through multiple tiers of sublicensees.

Indemnity

You agree to defend, indemnify and hold Alzheimer Society of B.C., its affiliates and associates (including without limitation all Federation members) and their respective officers, directors, employees, agents, licensors and suppliers, harmless from and against any claims, actions or demands, liabilities and settlements including without limitation, reasonable legal and accounting fees, resulting from, or alleged to result from, your violation of these Terms and Conditions.

General

Alzheimer Society of B.C. is incorporated under the laws of Canada and operates solely within Canada.

Alzheimer makes no claims that the Content is appropriate for any jurisdiction outside of Canada or the United States. Access to and downloading of the Content or any part thereof may not be legal by certain persons or in certain countries. If you access the Alzheimer Site from outside Canada or the United States, you do so at your own risk and are responsible for compliance with the laws of your jurisdiction.

Jurisdiction

By using the Alzheimer Site, you expressly agree that exclusive jurisdiction for any dispute with Alzheimer Society of B.C. or any of its affiliates and associates (including without limitation any Federation members, including with limitation their respective employees, officers, directors, agents, contractors, telecommunication providers and content providers), arising from or in any way relating to your use of the Alzheimer Site, resides in the courts of the province of Ontario, Canada. You further agree that any such dispute shall be governed by and construed and interpreted in accordance with the laws of the Province of Ontario and the laws of Canada applicable therein.

These Terms and Conditions are governed by the internal substantive laws of the province of Ontario and the laws of Canada applicable in Ontario, without respect to conflict of laws principles. If any provision of these Terms and Conditions is found to be invalid by any court having competent jurisdiction, the invalidity of such provision shall not affect the validity of the remaining provisions of these Terms and Conditions, which shall remain in full force and effect. No waiver of any of these Terms and Conditions shall be deemed a further or continuing waiver of such term or condition or any other term or condition.

Complete agreement

Except as expressly provided in a particular “legal notice” on the Alzheimer Site, these Terms and Conditions constitute the entire agreement between you and the Alzheimer Society of B.C. with respect to the use of the Alzheimer Site and Content.
