I have been observing a friend who is visually chronicling her Mother’s journey with severe dementia. The raw pictures of a life in decline, are both heartbreaking and devastating to witness. I really had no idea of how much this terrible disease affects both the afflicted as well as their loved ones. Alzheimer’s is a beast and financial help is needed!!
I was approached by Annemarie and Katrina to be a part of a fundraising event, and run the mountains of the Chilliwack Valley for 24 hours on August 31. Annemarie lost her Grandfather to Alzheimer’s and Katrina has a grandparent currently battling this disease. I thankfully have not had a family member go through this, but have been deeply touched by others who have. I am honoured to be a part of this and I would appreciate as little or as much as you would like to donate to this great cause.
