Anything for Alzheimer's Unique Event

Alzheimer's Awareness Month at Shawnigan

I'm Victoria, a grade 12 student at Shawnigan Lake School. When I was in sixth grade, my dad was diagnosed with early onset dementia.

In grade 10, I was able to speak to the school about my experience with my dad and how he is, in fact, my biggest hero. You can access a transcript of the speech at http://www.shawnigan.ca/page/news-detail?pk=784956&fromId=198498.

Last year as a Spokesperson for the Alzheimer Society I was able to bring Forget-Me-Not Pins to Shawnigan to raise funds and awareness for Alzheimers and Dementia. We raised over $2200 and this year, I'm hoping we can do the same.
