Tips and Tools
Thanks for checking this out! I am raising money in memory of my Dad, Ron Macht, who developed dementia in the latter years of his life, and my Mum, Anne, who cared for him. All money donated is in support of the Alzheimer's Society B.C.
Dad was a fan of hare-brained schemes, family, and friends, which are the three ingredients of this endeavour. The crazy sporting event I'm doing for this funraiser is cycling the entire 238 kms of the Kluane Chilkat Bike Relay, which starts in Haines Junction, Yukon, and ends in Haines, Alaska. This event will take place on June 17th, 2017. Brother Joel does this kind of thing as a matter of course, but this will be my first time completing the race solo. In coming together around this event, we are acknowledging the values that Ron showed in his life, and honouring his memory together.
By making a donation on this page, you are helping to transform the lives of individuals and families living with Alzheimer’s disease or other dementias. By supporting the work of the Alzheimer Society of B.C., you are ensuring there is a province-wide organization dedicated to providing services and programs to help families faced with dementia have the confidence and skills to maintain quality of life, to supporting the search for the cure.
Please make a donation today and help me to reach my fundraising goal!
