Winging It - A Memoir Supporting Caregivers

Thank you for visiting my fundraising page.

Winging It, A Story of Love, Loss, and Fifty Chickens is a memoir I wrote that chronicles my journey as the primary caregiver for my husband who was diagnosed with dementia in 2008. The book also humourously describes my many challenges as a newbie farmer on the acreage we purchased after Bill's diagnosis - a move from the city that was necessitated by the need to be close to the family help I knew I would need.

I've been told that my journey resonates with other caregivers who are looking after family members with dementia or other terminal illnesses -- bringing a few chuckles and some sense that there is light at the end of the tunnel. And hopefully that all the angst that caregiving creates is worth it.

Programs offered by the Alzheimer Society of B.C. helped me through some difficult times and I am happy to return, in some small way, the support I received by offering the Alzheimer Society a portion of the proceeds I receive from sale of Winging It.
