Thank you for visiting my fundraising page.  I’m raising money in support of the Alzheimer Society of B.C. 

My lovely mum, Anne Hanson, is living with dementia, first diagnosed 5 years ago.  Since then there have been many ups and downs and lots of roller coaster emotions.  Mum now lives at Lynn Valley Care Centre in North Vancouver where she is receiving wonderful care and support.  The Alzheimer Society of BC has been instrumental for me with education, support and, once or twice, just a caring person on the other end of the phone when I felt hopeless and full of despair.

Although a cure in the short term is unlikely, my hope is that my generation or my children's generation will see a cure and/or more advanced medical breakthroughs to keep this horrible disease at bay for longer.
