Anything for Alzheimer's Unique Event

12th Annual Georgina Falt Memorial Music Trivia

The 12th annual Georgina Falt Memorial Mind Games Music Trivia fundraiser for the Alzheimer Society of B.C. will take place in a new location in 2024 after surpassing the $100,000 in total amount raised since inception last year.

The tournament will be at the Crofton Community Centre on Saturday, September 28, 2024 at 3 p.m. We thank the Duncan Curling Club for its support during the last few years as the host site, but we needed to move in order to accommodate more people with the growing interest in the event.

The total amount raised since the tournament began in 2013 has now reached $107,947 and we can't thank everyone enough - participants and sponsors alike - for making that happen over the years.

There is already a waiting list for this year's tournament so anyone interested in participating should contact organizers Don and Theresa Bodger at donandtheresab@shaw.ca to be put on the list and notified in priority order if a space opens up.

The minimum donation is $25 per person to play and $200 for a full team of eight, with all proceeds going to the Alzheimer Society of B.C.

This is an all-ages event with a mix of music from the 1950s to the present. There are 10 rounds to the game plus two special novelty rounds. You will hear 30-second clips of songs and then your team will have to identify the song title and artist and write it down on a sheet of paper that is collected after each round of 12 songs.

The winning team will be the recipient of the coveted Georgina Falt Memorial Mind Games Music Trivia trophy. The tournament runs for about four hours and there is also a raffle draw, silent auctions, and a 50-50.

By making a donation on this page, you are helping to transform the lives of individuals and families living with Alzheimer's disease or other dementias. By supporting the work of the Alzheimer Society of B.C., you are ensuring there is a province-wide organization dedicated to providing services and programs to help families faced with dementia have the confidence and skills to maintain quality of life, to support the search for the cure.

Thank you in advance for your participation and for supporting this important cause!
