Our Lotus cycling club is raising money in support of the Alzheimer Society of B.C. 

Maybe you've seen us, all kitted out in the same outfits, riding along spanish banks or marine drive or up Cypress mountain. You might think we are kinda crazy to get up early, don the gear, and ride for half a day. Well, it's one of the things in life that helps us feel even more alive, connected, inspired, motivated and healthy. Plus, it's one of the lifestyle habits that may help reduce the risk of getting Alzheimer's. Well, activity is, not necessarily these long rides in tight clothes. ..

Anyway, back to the point!

On June 22nd, 2024 we are biking 100km in the Fraser Valley together with friends to raise funds and awareness for Alzheimer's and other dementia's. Our ride finishes at The Village Langley, Canada’s first village-style residence for people living with dementia.The Village Langley is independent, cottage-style living, surrounded by five acres of grounds.  Cycliists, villagers and their families alike will celebrate after the cyclists complete their 100Km with a street party complete with a band, bike races, food, drinks and hopefully lots of laughter and fun!

Many of us have lost those near and dear to us due to the disease, and while there is no cure, there is support for those living with the disease and for their family members. Progams organized by the Alzheimer's Society of B.C. like FirstLink help.
