Team Marlene, in support of my Mom Marlene Puls, is raising money in support of Alzheimer Society of British Columbia by participating in the Climb for Alzheimer's.
Alzheimer’s disease is an irreversible, progressive brain disorder that slowly destroys memory and thinking skills, and eventually the ability to carry out the simplest tasks such as speech. Thankfully Mom's journey is not that advanced as she is still able to remember her immediate famiy and can play simple games such as scrabble & crib (with support). Mom can also put me to shame with solving crossword puzzles. I'm not looking forward to the day when Mom will no longer be able to play games which give her immense pleasure and helps to pass the time of day.
Did you know 564,000 Canadians currently live with dementia in Canada. It is estimated that 937,000 Canadians will be living with dementia in the next 15 years.
By making a donation to Team Marlene, you are helping to make a difference to those who are currently affected by Alzheimer disease and related dementias in British Columbia. I welcome you to join Team Marlene and/or make a donation to help me reach my modest goal of $500.00. Thank you!
