Can my team fundraise together?
Absolutely! In fact, we encourage team members to share fundraising ideas and collaborate on fundraising events.
Why should I fundraise online?
Fundraising online is fast, convenient and fun. It makes it easy for you to stay in touch with your donors and to administer your donations. It also makes it easy for your friends and family to donate to you.
How will donors receive tax receipts for their donations?
Donations of $15 or more will receive an official tax receipt. Tax receipts for donations made online will be e-mailed automatically at the time of the donation. All other tax receipts will be mailed after the event by the Alzheimer Society of B.C.
When should I arrive at the event?
Registration begins at 8:30 a.m. Please arrive as close to this time as possible to ensure adequate time to check-in and meet your teammates.
What if it rains on event day?
Climb for Alzheimer's will still take place, providing the trail conditions are safe. Please check the local weather forecast before heading out and dress appropriately.
What should I wear?
Ensure you wear proper and well-fitted footwear and socks to avoid blisters and other injuries. Also, it’s advisable to wear performance apparel and avoid wearing items made from cotton and other non-wicking materials for maximum comfort. Remember to dress in layers. It’s always better to add or take off items, than not have the option at all.
What should I bring with me?
Water is available to participants, but feel free to bring your own water bottle. Don’t forget to bring items like tissues, fruit or power bars that you may need throughout your hike. Please remember to be respectful of the environment and have a means to carry your garbage until you can dispose of it.
Do I have to complete the entire Grouse Grind® route?
We encourage you to hike the entire trail as turning around can cause issues for those going up. With that said, if you are unable to continue please inform attendants along the trail and they will assist with getting you down the trail safely.
Can I switch to the Summit Stroll on event day?
Absolutely. Simply go to the Event Day registration tent and let us know that you want to switch routes. We will be able to switch you over to the Summit Stroll.
